As promised, New Delhi based Intex in collaboration with American software giant Mozilla has delivered the ultra-low cost phone- Cloud FX for just ₹1,999, making it the cheapest touchscreen smartphone in the Indian market.
The new Intex Cloud FX sports a 3.5-inch HVGA (480x320p) screen and ships with Firefox OS backed by 1GHz processor, 128MB RAM and expandable storage (up to 4GB). It also boasts of 2.0-megapixel camera on the rear side.

The specifications of this new Intex phone might repel the smartphone owner, but it is certain to get traction from first-time smartphone buyers. More than 70 percent of the Indian market is constituted by people who own a feature-phone, according to the Indian arm of the IDC (International Data Corporation).
This is an exciting time for citizens who will be spoilt for choices in selecting smartphones as numerous domestic and MNC brands launch low-cost devices to get a formidable foothold in the Indian market, which is touted as world's third biggest handset business arena.
To make things more exciting, Celkon, Micromax, Karbonn, Spice and Intex (still in talks) have joined hands with search engine giant, Google to launch $100 (around ₹6,000) stock Android smartphones in India around Diwali. This is a part of American company's Android One project to give consumers affordable devices with guarantee of getting new updates when released.
