Bollywood wonder boy Arjun Kapoor lost 50 kilos, it was understood, in order to bag his debut film "Ishaqzaade" (2012) but the actor has now reportedly confessed that he did it to get laid.
School dropout and overweight, Kapoor reportedly said he was pretty "unwanted" for a long time until superstar Salman Khan motivated him to get rid of the flab.
According to a Miss Malini report, at dialogue writer Niranjan Iyengar's "Look Who's Talking", the "2 States" actor said: "All the efforts that went into losing weight were just to get laid".
"Witty, articulate and introspective. Arjun Kapoor bares his heart on #LWT tonight. 9 pm on Zee Cafe. @arjunk26," Iyengar tweeted, promising a host of other revelations from the charismatic actor.
Kapoor, who has always credited his success to Khan's support, has spoken at length about his miraculous and inspiring weight-loss story.
"He was the one who propped me to become an actor and lose weight, but it took him four years to embed in me how to become a professional actor," Kapoor told The Times of India.
Apparently, when Kapoor first met the casting director of Yash Raj Films, he was heavily criticised for being obese.
"The first time I met Shanoo Sharma, the casting director of Ishaqzaade, she told me you look like shit, even though by that time I was down to 97 kilos."
But the determined Kapoor never lost faith in himself. Apparently, he went back to train harder and look the part he was being offered in "Ishaqzaade".
"I worked on myself and finally got selected for Ishaqzaade by auditioning."
"Finding Fanny" and "Tevar" are the actor's next releases. While he will essay the role of a Goan in the Homi Adajania directorial, Amit Sharma's action-romance film will seen him play a Kabbadi player.
