Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" trailer has been met with a positive response. His colleagues from the Hindi film industry too praised it, and Salman Khan is one of them.
"I watched the trailer of Rustom recently on TV and Akshay is OUTSTANDING. I am really looking forward to it," Catch News quoted the "Sultan" star as saying. Akshay and Salman share a warm, friendly rapport, which is why the praises didn't seem out-of-the-blue or surprising.
In a recently-published interview with the Hindustan Times, Akshay said how he admires the three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir — for the kind of hard work they do and the success they have achieved. However, he did add that he wasn't competing with them and will never do so.
"To compete with your peers is to play a fool's game. The Khans are a force to reckon with. They are the 'Khans' for a reason. I have never competed with them. It would be wrong of me to want to do that. I know who I am, and I know where my name and effort can take me. I'm more than happy with my space in this world," he further elaborated.
"Rustom" arrives in theatres on Aug. 12, same day as Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro." Loosely based on the infamous Nanavati case of 1959, the crime-thriller also stars Ileana D'cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa in key roles.
In other news, Akshay has a string of films to choose from. He is halfway through Shankar's "2.0," which stars Rajinikanth in the lead. In August, he begins with "Jolly LLB 2" alongside Huma Qureshi. "Namastey England" is another film he has confirmed, but the project has been delayed far too many times.
