Bollywood's top league has quite a bit on their plates in this year. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan are all set to enthrall their fans with their upcoming films.
It's a schedule wrap for SRK on Gauri Shinde's untitled next, which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead. He will soon begin Imitiaz Ali's film, which may see him essay a turbaned tourist (although he has rubbished the news on several occasions), and then take up Aanand L Rai's romantic-drama, DNA reported.
The "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" director's film focuses on the life of a "little person;" script writer Himanshu Sharma has been hoping he is able to pen the best story for the project. The superstar will then begin Aditya Chopra's film, which, in his words, will be "big" and require him to prepare for two straight months.
While SRK has only three more projects, Salman will take on at least five. He will begin with Kabir Khan's "Tubelight" July onwards. The hunt for the leading lady is on; rumour has it the team is considering a Chinese actress. Then, Salman will move on to Rajkumar Santoshi's comic caper, which will also reportedly feature a healthy dose of action. "Dabangg 3," "Kick 2," and "Kshanam" remake are the other films he's looking at.
Unlike the other Khans, Aamir is taking it easy. He is yet to complete "Dangal," and the only other project that is sort of confirmed is "Secret Superstar." The actor's former manager, Advait Chauhan, will make his directorial debut with this one. Aamir is expected to play the role of a musician. The directors of "Sarfarosh" and "3 Idiots" have expressed a desire to make sequels to these films, but nothing concrete has been announced yet.
Akshay has portions of "2.0" left. In the sci-fi thriller, the actor essays the role of a mad scientist who turns himself into a crow following a lab experiment. He begins "Namastey England" next with Sonakshi Sinha; it will apparently be shot across the picturesque Europe. "Ikka" and Hindi remake of Vijay's Tamil superstar "Theri" are two of his other films.
Ajay is currently busy with his second directorial "Shivaay." The actor begins Remo D'Souza's film in August, and then "Baadshaho," a film loosely-based on the 1975 emergency. "Sons of Sardaar 2" is another project he is yet to begin work on. However, he has said it will open in theatres on Diwali 2017.
Hrithik, like Aamir, has only two films in the pipeline — "Kaabil" and Vijay Krishna Acharya's next.
