Turns out the news of Shah Rukh Khan beating Akshay Kumar to bag the Hindi remake rights of "Theri" and Rohit Shetty helming the project is wronger than wrong.
Rohit, in a recently-concluded event, spilled the beans on his project and the alleged tiff with SRK. "First I heard I am doing Theri with SRK. Then I heard that the movie which I never announced, got shelved. Then I also heard that SRK and I fought. He is in America and I was in London. How can we fight?," he told Catch News.
Apparently, SRK and Rohit's perfect working relationship hit a rough patch after "Dilwale," their second film together, didn't quite score at the box office. While Rohit believed the superstar shouldn't have released it with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani," SRK apparently thought the director didn't work hard enough.
This had become a talking point and a conversation starter in the industry and indicated a possible cold war between Shah Rukh and Rohit. But now it is clear that the stories were made-up and for entertainment purposes.
In other news, Shah Rukh is in Prague shooting for Imtiaz Ali's tentatively-titled romantic-drama "The Ring," which also stars Anushka Sharma in the lead. It the actor's first film with the filmmaker and third with the "Sultan" actress; they were romantically paired in "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan."
Meanwhile, Rohit has just wrapped up a music video single with Ranveer Singh and will direct a film with him in the lead soon. He also has "Golmaal 4" in the pipeline, which stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu.
