Bollywood actor Salman Khan aka "Dabangg Tiger Khan" is certainly the most bankable actor in the industry today with back-to-back superhit films to his credit. And it seems every filmmaker in Bollywood wants to have a piece of him for any amount of fee.
His recently released film "Ek Tha Tiger" has surpassed the Rs 1 billion benchmark and is shinning with whopping Rs 1.5 billion merely in just two weeks of its release.
Looking at the record-breaking success of his last few releases, Salman has reportedly been offered Rs 1 billion for a film by Ramesh Taurani.
"As expected "Ek Tha Tiger" has sent the cash registers ringing and many filmmakers have been seen visiting Salman's residence to make a film with him. However, Taurani, who has earlier worked with Salman and has had him signed since the past couple of years, is very keen that they do a film together," a source told Mid-Day.
"A couple of days back, he met Salman and offered him Rs. 100 crore for a film. Taurani is aware that the actor's last three films have done business near to Rs. 150 crore net and that's why he is ready to take the gamble," the source added.
However, Taurani said the figures were incorrect, adding that "Salman has already signed with me and this is not the right figure. He will be doing a film in 2013 with us and details are being worked out."
Meanwhile, eminent filmmaker Subhash Ghai also seconds the fact that Sallu Miyan "deserves it" and even he is ready to pay him Rs 1 billion for a film.
"If Salman asks for R 100 crore I will be more than happy to pay him the amount because he deserves it. In fact, I am confident that our film will make Rs 200 crore," Ghai told Mid-Day, adding, "There are no formalities between me and Salman. I have been talking to him about a film from the last one and a half years."
From "Maine Pyar Kiya" in 1989 to "Ek Tha Tiger" in 2012, the actor has acted in more than 80 films and delivered many hit films.
Well, it seems that the demand for the 46-year-old actor isn't fading anytime soon and he will remain atop the filmmakers' list in the days to come in spite of his age!
