Nominations and performers list are out, but the makers of Filmfare Awards 2016 can't seem to decide on the hosts of the night.
However, DNA's sources have revealed that it's Salman Khan who will be joining Kapil Sharma and Karan Johar on stage and not Shah Rukh Khan.
"The anchoring of the awards functions has become tedious to do and watch. How many combinations can one watch Kapil Sharma and Manish Paul in? Salman is a masterstroke. He is popular and Bigg Boss has proved what a fabulous host he is," the insider informed the daily.
The best bit about this new development is that the "Sultan" actor has been paid a whopping Rs 2.5 crore for the show, which is almost a crore per hour. "He was pursued relentlessly and the pay cheque is close to 2.5 crores," the source further added.
While this may come across as strange as SRK has always been Filmfare Awards' favourite host, the possibility of him not doing it is high as he has packed shooting schedules ahead.
Interestingly, there are reports which claim makers of a prestigious award show are hoping to utilise the "Raees" actor's freshly-revived friendship with Salman by roping them in as hosts. It could either be the one in question or IIFA awards, as these shows are the only ones that are left to be organised.
Meanwhile, Salman, Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kriti Sanon, and Ranveer Singh will reportedly be adding spice to the big night with their performances.
