Reports have it that Jamie Dornan is one of the front runners to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Fans barely got used to the fact that Charlie Hunnam bagged the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" when the "Sons Of Anarchy" star confirmed he was exiting the movie. Some even heaved a sigh of relief at his exit. Reports already have it that another actor is being rumoured to be the next Christian Grey.
No people! It's not your favorite Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer but Jamie Dornan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the last couple of days Dornan has emerged as the top contender for the role. Fellow Briton Christian Cooke is also being considered for the role.
The site writes: "Both actors came close to capturing the part the first time around but lost to Hunnam because the Sons of Anarchy star is a bigger name."
Meanwhile, a picture posted by Somerhalder on Twitter and Instagram sent fans in a frenzy, hoping that the picture hinted their star had finally bagged the lead role in the film inspired by E.L James' novel.
"I didn't fall for you, you f***ing tripped me," the quote in the photo reads. Many fans immediately commented on the photo saying it was such a "Christian Grey" line.
"This is so Christian Grey," one Instagram user commented. Another wrote, "This is so what #ChristianGrey would say ... R U trying to tell us something."
With a new opening for the lead, Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims that Somerhalder has jumped back into Christian Grey campaign mode and is attempting to secure a screen test with Anastasia Steele's Dakota Johnson. However it's important to note that "The Canyons" writer, Bret Easton Ellis, previously stated that the "Vampire Diaries" actor was never in the running for the role. Instead, Ellis claims that "50 Shades" author E.L. James had her heart set on "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson.
