The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia begins from June 14 and will go on till July 15 as 32 teams from across the world look to stamp their dominance in the most popular sport in the world. The hosts will begin proceedings in Moscow on the opening day when they face Saudi Arabia on Thursday, June 14.
There are a host of great matchups to look forward to in the group stages, with a few behemoths matched against each other, which should make for a good spectacle. Italy, Netherlands and Chile are the notable absentees from this year's tournament, having failed to make their way into the final draw. The groups scheduled are as follows:

Most of the preliminary squads for the teams have been announced while a few countries have gone ahead and disclosed the final 23-man squad to travel to Russia. The league season across countries have come to a close with only the Champions League final left of note, with Liverpool and Real Madrid battling against each other.
