Fiat India is all set to launch the Urban Cross, a crossover derivative of Punto Evo hatchback later this month. Ahead of the launch, many Fiat dealership centres have started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs. 21,000.
The Urban Cross features a newly-styled front and rear fascia with new front grille, side mouldings, roof rack and LED lighting. The crossover runs on 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, Urban Cross features 5-inch touchscreen display with audio navigation and dual-tone dash board. The new model measures 3,989mm in length, 1,706mm in width and 1,542mm in height.
The Urban Cross will be sold in both petrol and diesel powertrains, says a report in IndianAutosBlog. The 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine will produce 139bhp and 210Nm of torque while the 1.3-litre Multijet turbo-diesel mill will belt out 92bhp and 209Nm of torque. Both engines will be coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox.
This is the third derivative of Punto hatchback to be launched in India, with the others being the Punto Evo and Abarth Punto. In July, Fiat launched Linea 125 S, the 124bhp version of the Linea sedan at Rs. 7.82 lakh. Both Urban Cross and Linea 125 S were the star attraction at the Fiat stall at Auto Expo 2016 held in February.
