If emerging reports on the web are to be believed, Italian car-maker Fiat will be finally launching its much-awaited Abarth 500 in India in May.
A report of MotorBeam claims that Fiat Abarth 500 is likely to reach Indian shores next month as the maker of the model has finally decided to put an end to waiting.
The auto aficionados in India have been drooling over Abarth since its first appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. Although the car has been linked to different launch dates, it is now being said that the auto-lovers will see the car on the road in May, which is just a couple of weeks away from now.
Under the hood, Abarth 500 will pack a 1.4 litre MultiAir turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine, which can conveniently churn out a power of 135bhp and there is also a top-of-the-line model 'Essess' with an output of 161bhp.
As for features, Abarth 500 is expected to house projector head-lamps, dual-exhaust system and KONI front-shock absorbers.
On the safety front, the new offering of Fiat is likely to come fitted with Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and airbags.
In India, the model will be competing against the likes of BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Volkswagen Beetle and Volvo V40 Cross Country and if rumours have their say, Fiat Abarth will be priced at around ₹25 lakh.
