Festive Season Launches: Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Car Models in India; Price, Feature, Launch Details

Despite the slowdown and precipitous hike in fuel prices, the auto sector is hoping to cash in during the festival season and have announced the launch of several new cars in the country. We are here looking at the upcoming cars of India's favourite make Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti, the country's largest car maker has been part and parcel of every Indian's life till other car makers invaded the domestic auto market. Though the company managed to stay close to the hearts of billions even after that, the market shares of Maruti has fallen over the years, owing to the tight competition in the market. However, the car maker is ready to pamper you with choices during this festive season.

Here's a look at the festive season launches of Maruti Suzuki:

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Ciaz, a sedan based on the Suzuki Authentics concept car was first seen at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and since then the car has made numerous appearances on the web through spy images and reports. The Suzuki had also showcased a near production version of Ciaz dubbed Alivio at the Beijing Auto Show 2014.

Under the hood, Maruti's new C-segment offering, Ciaz is likely to pack the same 1.3 liter Multijet diesel or 1.4 liter K Series petrol engine of Ertiga and is expected to carry some of the features of its under performing SX4 and Ertiga. It will take on the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento in the sub-continent, and is expected to come with safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). There are also rumours that the Maruti is preparing the new Ciaz with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)

Maruti is likely to price the upcoming sedan in the ₹7.2 lakh to ₹10.5 lakh range

During the festive season this year, by October

Maruti Swift facelift

Maruti Swift, one of the incredible offering of Maruti in the domestic market is expected to get a facelift during this festive season. Maruti Swift facelift, a car which is already on sales in the international markets like Europe and Japan will carry over the same design language of the original Swift, but will receive cosmetic upgrades.

Under the bonnet, the new Swift facelift is likely to get the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. The car is expected to come loaded with features like LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), foldable rear seats, infotainment with Bluetooth connectivity and electronic foldable ORVMs.

Expected Price:

Maruti is likely to price the new Swift model in the range ₹4.5 lakh to ₹7 lakh.

Expected Launch:

By July/August 2014

Maruti Swift Dzire Facelift

Maruti Swift Dzire, Swift based sedan is also getting facelift in the country. Like Swift, the Dzire facelift will also not have much change in terms of styling and engines. 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines will continue to do the duty in the car. Electric seat adjustment, Bluetooth and iPod compatibility and larger boot are some of the features expected in the upcoming Dzire facelift.

Between ₹5 lakh to ₹8 lakh

Expected Launch:

By October
