The Yin Yang Femina Style Diva Pune 2013, an event aimed at unveiling young and aspiring fashionistas, concluded on Thursday, with Malvika Sitlani winning the top honours.
Sitlani was crowned the Yin Yang Femina Style Diva Pune 2013 in the presence of very qualified panelists. While Steffi Natalya was the first runner up, Muskaan Sodhi was the second runner up.
A total of 16 stylish girls were chosen from several entries, who were mentored by supermodel-turned-choreographer Achla Sachdev and groomed by Eva Pavithran, Associate Editor at Femina.
Actress Jaqueline Fernandez, director Abhishek Kapoor, Yami Gautam, Tanya Chaitanya, editor at Femina, Dr Madhu Chopra of Studio Aesthetique Jitesh Pillaai, Filmfare editor, Hrishikesh, CEO & Director Yin Yang and Vishal Singh GM Hyatt Pune Kalyani Nagar were the panellists for the event.
The first round put the contestants' creativity to test, letting them style outfits from their own wardrobe. The contestants showed off their talents with creative pieces such as a skirt made out of a lungi and a gown designed by them. For round two, the girls walked the ramp with clothes by Pune-based designer Seema Singh.
Round three saw the contestants flaunt their accessorising skills to match the gorgeous 'resort wear' designed by Pria Kataria Puri. Wearing gowns designed by Babita Malkani, the finalists were asked style-related questions by the judges.
The event saw performances by Illuminati dance troupe, comedian Rohan Joshi and singer Usha Uthup.
"Femina Style Diva provides a great platform for young women who love playing dress up and have an innate sense of style. They may not all end up in the fashion industry, as we had an interesting mix of contestants this year - from physiotherapists and singers to dance choreographers and investment bankers," said Tanya Chaitanya, editor at Femina.
