Model-turned-actor Rajniesh Duggall has emerged victorious in the fifth season of "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi" (KKK5).
Three contestants Duggall, Gurmeet Choudhary and Nikitin Dheer made it to the finals after Debina Bonnerjee and Salman Yussuf Khan were ousted from the final five.
The usually shy Duggall performed the 'climax' stunt to the best of his capability and beat Dheer and tough guy Choudhary to lift the trophy.
The "1920" actor was given the winner's trophy by actor Ajay Devgn, who made an appearance in the finale, as a police officer in tune with his upcoming film "Singham Returns". Duggall also received a cash prize of ₹25 lakh and a Mahindra Scorpio.
"I entered the show keeping in mind that I have to win it. But there were many moments of ups and downs on the show and I do accept that the down moments did demotivate me. But the idea was winning only," the 32-year-old told PTI after winning the show.
"The show not only opened doors for other ventures but it did make me a bold human being. I was always a strong-headed but I have become bold now," he added.
Duggall was all praise for director Rohit Shetty, who hosted the daring reality show and set up some difficult tasks for the contestants throughout.
"Rohit motivated everyone. He pushed every contestant to another level with each task. He is one of the reasons that I managed to win the show. He looks tough but he is a nice human being and one of the best hosts of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi'," the actor said.
While the adventure reality show was shot in Cape Town, South Africa, the winner's name had been kept under wraps and was recently announced in Mumbai. However, days before the show was aired, reports had carried Dheer, Duggall and Choudhary's names as finalists and some reports even had hinted that Duggall had bagged the top spot.
The finale episode, also saw celebrity participants of upcoming dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7" - Shakti Mohan, Sreesanth, Sukhwinder Singh and "Palak" of "Comedy Nights with Kapil" entertaining the audience.
Ousted contestant Karanvir Bohra hosted a funny awards show giving away ridiculous titles to the 16 contestants of "KKK5." Bohra also evoked giggles as he tried to ape Devgn's famous motorbike stunt balancing on tricycles.
The 16 contestants who participated in "KKK5" are: Gauahar Khan, Kushal Tandon, Mugdha Godse, Rochelle Maria Rao, Nikitin Dheer, Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnerjee, Dayanand Shetty, Salman Yusuff Khan, Pooja Gor, Geeta Tandon, Ranvir Shorey, Karanvir Bohra, Teejay Sidhu, Ajaz Khan and Deana Uppal.
