Indian Super League fans will make a trip from Mumbai to Goa for another entertaining football match this ISL 2016. Home team FC Goa takes on Mumbai City FC at the JLN stadium, Fatorda, on Wednesday. This is the 11th league match of the season for both teams.
There is a massive difference of form between the two and it is getting reflected in the current ISL 2016 points table. While Mumbai are third in table with 15 points, Goa remain rockbottom with just ten points bagged.
In this particular scenario, a win for Zico's FC Goa can do wonders for them. When it seems like it could be the first time ever that Goa might lose out on a semis berth, a couple of wins and good performances in their next few games could still see them through to the last four of ISL 2016.
"I have to motivate my players because we still have hope. Because it depends just on us," mentioned Zico. "If we win all games we will be in the semi-finals but we will have to depend on other results too, so it is a bit difficult. Every game for us is a final now."
For the match, FC Goa's Luciano Sobrosa, Rafael Dumas and Sahil Tavora are suspended and it needs to be seen whether there are more Indian players this time around as well to take the field for Goa. Zico fielded as many as nine Indian players in the field in their previous ISL 2016 fixture.
For Mumbai City FC, the Sunil Chhetri and Diego Forlan combination up front may not have worked very well in their previous game, but with Chhetri getting more training time now, the lethal partnership could just start to destroy other teams' defence.
Head to head record
FC Goa 2-1 Mumbai City FC; two games drawn
Schedule
FC Goa vs Mumbai City FC is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm IST (2.30 pm BST) on November 16.
