It wouldn't be shocking if, one of these days, Fawad Khan woke up to a beeline of directors wanting to work with him; his "Kapoor and Sons" performance was that brilliant. Karan Johar is apparently joining that queue.
A BollywoodLife report states the director is keen on roping in Fawad and Deepika Padukone for his next. Obviously, this is just a speculation and there has been no official announcement yet.
But the idea of watching them sizzle the big screen with their perfect faces and acting chops is what dreams are made of. They had once posed for a picture together, from the "Piku" success bash held last year, and it was getting quite hard to fathom why no one ever thought of pairing them together all this while.
The 34-year-old, who is yet to announce his next, is clearly not in a rush to sign films. In one of his many interviews for "Kapoor and Sons," he said he was open to working in "Battle Of Bittora," which may star Sonam Kapoor.
"It was more of a matter of time-lines not being able to match than anything else. So 'Battle of Bittora' is something we are yet to sit down and talk. I am yet to hear the updated draft of the film," he told the Press Trust of India and was quick to add that the makers were looking at other options (in terms of the lead role) as well.
Meanwhile, Deepika is on a break from her gruelling "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" schedule, in which she plays girlfriend to Vin Diesel's character. The actress has been bonding with her co-stars, mostly Ruby Rose, and living it up in Toronto, Canada.
She is yet to sign films back home and will only do so once she wraps up her Hollywood debut film. However, earlier this year, she had expressed an interest in being part of the Saina Nehwal biopic. Some reports say, she has been sent as many as 20 scripts, but only for reading purposes.
