The market for Hollywood movies in India is growing year after year and "Fast & Furious 7" box office collection clearly shows that our audience are welcoming international films like never before. The Vin Diesel-Paul Walker starrer has made record business in its opening weekend in India.
The early reports emerging from trade states that "Fast & Furious 7" has created a new record for a Hollywood film in India. It has collected ₹70 crore in the nation.
Announcing the news of the first two days' collection, leading trade tracker Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#FastAndFurious7 sets new records! Thu to Sun ₹ 50.05 cr. GBOC: Thu to Sun ₹ 70 cr. India biz. FABULOUS!"
On the first two days, "Fast & Furious 7" raked in ₹32.75 crore. On the release day, the Hollywood movie collected ₹16.75 crore and on the second day it earned ₹16 crore. This business, by any standards, is the highest for a Hollywood movie.
He added, "It's #FastAndFurious7 wave across the nation. The 4-day biz [Thu-Sun] should be the HIGHEST so far [2015 releases]. Setting new benchmarks." The film was released in about 2,000 screens in the country in multiple languages and the screen count itself is a record for a Hollywood film.
"Fast & Furious 7" starring Vin Diesel, late Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and others in the cast. It is the seventh instalment in the franchise and the business has only improved with every instalment.
It is a special movie for the audience and the fans of the franchise as it is the last movie of Paul Walker, who was killed in a road accident in 2013. Following his death, the release - which was supposed to happen in 2014 - was pushed and his portions were re-written which delayed the release.
