Ranbir Kapoor, who showcased his patriotic side in "Raajneeti" (2010), is a nationalist in real life as well.
The Bollywood actor, along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, unfurled the world's largest and tallest Indian flag in Faridabad on Tuesday.
The event took place at the city's town park and was attended by thousands of proud citizens. Ministers of the state cabinet were also present.
Kapoor was seen dressed according to the occasion; he had donned a navy blue achkan paired with white pants. Several fans from Haryana arrived at the venue to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood heartthrob.
The actor, along with Shah, pressed down the button that unfolded the national flag, raising it high up the tall post.
Called the "The Tallest Tiranga", the flag weighs 48 kilograms and is 96 feet by 64 feet in dimension. It was raised at a height of 250 feet, making it the highest and the largest Indian flag in the world.
The BJP intends to construct many such tall figures in different parts of the country over the next few years.
On work front, the "Roy" actor is currently shooting for Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha" in Delhi. He will be starring opposite ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
