Farhan Akhtar, who is on a Rock On 2 promotion spree, will be performing live for the first time in Shillong. The performance will be Farhan's 61st concert along with the entire team.
Farhan and his team have performed across the world in places like Dubai, Muscat, Singapore, Houston, Mauritius, Sydney, Melbourne, Allahabad, Guwahati, Belgum, Bangalore and New Delhi, but not in the "rock capital" of India.
The date of the concert has not been revealed, but reports suggest that it will take place in the coming week. Farhan and his team will perform on popular tracks from his films Dil Chahta hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Luck By Chance, Dil Dhadakne Do and Rock On 2.
"Farhan has been performing live gigs since 2013. This will be Farhan's 61st concert with his band members. This is the first time they (the band) will perform in Shillong," a source said. "Farhan and his team members spend around two to three hours daily on practice sessions. The band will be performing some of Farhan's most popular tracks from his films such as Dil Chahta Hai (2001), and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), among others," the source added.
His spokesperson confirmed about the event and said that Farhan is excited to visit Shillong and perform over there. "Farhan has been immensely excited for each of the shows that have happened in the past and is now very anxiously gearing up for this one!" his spokesperson added.
In other news, Farhan is also gearing up for the release of his movie Rock On 2, which will hit screens on November 11. The film, which is a sequel to the 2008's film Rock On, features Farhan, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai, Shashank Arora and Shraddha Kapoor and is directed by Shujaat Saudagar.
