Farhan Akhtar has finally cleared the air on "Raees" and stated he will not be sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in the film.
Daily Bhaskar had carried a report on Wednesday that Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was set to replace Akhtar, has now been told to step out, since the "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" actor has sorted out dates for "Raees".
However, Hindustan Times reported on Thursday that Akhtar has not signed up the project.
"When the script was in the initial stages, Farhan had shown an interest in acting in the film. However, as talks progressed, he didn't seem as keen as he was earlier, and he decided to back out before things went further. There was no question of him being signed up for the part," a source from Farhan's production house told HT.
When Akhtar was asked about the cast of "Raees", he said that the film's production team would announce it soon.
"The film has had its share of rumours - from me being part of it and being thrown out to being replaced. I don't want to confuse people more about the film. But, very soon, we will announce the star cast," Akhtar told HT.
A lot has been reported about the cast of the Rahul Dholakia directorial. But till now, only the lead actor's role, played by SRK, has been confirmed by the production team.
Even the lead actress is yet to be confirmed. Reports were doing the rounds that Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are being considered for the part, though both actresses have denied the reports.
