After Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal's musical flick "Rock On!" turned out to be a blockbuster in 2008, the makers had announced the sequel of the film.
And after much delay, Akhtar has finally started preparation for the much-anticipated film.
Reportedly, the "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" actor will be travelling and performing with his band in various cities in India as well as overseas in the coming months.
The multi-talented actor has allotted three months from January to March for the tour during which he will be performing in cities including New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Belgaum, Ranchi, Hyderabad, Goa, Allahabad and Kota in India. He will aslo be travelling to the UAE, Australia, Nepal, Kuwait and the US.
"Yes. Farhan will extensively be travelling early next year for concerts and performances." Akhtar's spokesperson told Bollywood Hungama.
Various colleges and organisations have been approaching his band and the talented actor believes in learning while travelling and intends to connect with the youth who would attend the concerts.
The concert tour is said to be a live preparation for his film "Rock On! 2".
Soon after the tour ends, Akhtar will reportedly start shooting the film. There were reports that Alia Bhatt has been roped in to play the lead in the sequel. However, recent reports suggest that the "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" actress has opted out of the project citing date issues.
The original version directed by Abhishek Kapoor marked Akhtar and Prachi Desai's debut film and Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli played important roles in it.
In 2015, Akhtar will be seen in multi-starrer "Dil Dhadakne Do" and "Wazir" along with Amitabh Bachchan.
