Farhan Akhtar's divorce has come as a shock to fans. While there have been speculations of trouble in paradise for quite some time now, it has now come to fore that the actor and wife Adhuna Bhabhani have decided to end their marriage of 16 years.
The couple issued an official statement on Wednesday stating that though they have mutually parted ways, their children will always remain their priority.
"This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."
The official announcement came after several reports hinted at their troubled marriage. Rumours were rife that all is not well between Farhan and Adhuna, who is six years older than he, and Adhuna missing during "Wazir" promotion just added fuel to fire.
Meanwhile, the "Wazir" actor has reportedly moved out of his Bandra house and is presently living with his sister Zoya, according to Mid-Day.
Farhan and Adhuna met during the filming of "Dil Chahta Hai". The duo dated for three years, tied the knot in 2000, and soon became proud parents of Shakya and Akira.
