Ubisoft has announced that it will be releasing a new FPS title Far Cry 4 in November 2014. Release dates have also been revealed with the latest in the Far Cry franchise rolling out on 18 November for US and 20 November for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
"Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans' expectations. Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we're eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months," said Dan Hay, executive producer at Ubisoft in a post on official blog.
Far Cry 4 will be based in Kyrat in the Himalayas, ruled by a "despotic self-appointed king." Kyrat has been described as a beautiful place but intertwined with danger. The land is said to be wild.
"But don't be lulled into a false sense of security by the achingly beautiful views; Kyrat is a wild land full of perils. Once again, players will be able to craft their own stories as they travel through this exotic open world teeming with wildlife – using their wits along with an assortment of powerful weapons and diverse vehicles," explained Ubisoft detailing about the new fictional Kyrat in the blog.
Players will be able to craft their own stories as they progress through the game and will also be receiving weapons and various vehicles.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will be assisted by Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.
Far Cry 4 will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will get its first look at E3 2014.
Ubisoft also posted that the Limited Edition of Far Cry 4 will get the Hurk's Redemption missions and also The Impaler, a harpoon gun. All pre-ordered Far Cry 4 customers will get Hurk's Redemption.
