Japanese celebrity power-couple Masaharu Fukuyama and Kazue Fukiishi will soon welcome a child together. The singer and actress have been married since September 2015, and this will be the first time they welcome a child together.
Fukiishi released a statement regarding her pregnancy on Monday: "I have now entered the stable stage of my pregnancy. We have been spending every day of our lives in anticipation and joy. In order to safely give birth, I will live gently while I monitor my physical condition. Please continue watch us from now on."
The news of the pregnancy has made the fans extremely excited and happy. Many fans have tweeted their well wishes for the couple, saying things that range from "Their baby will have super genes" to "Like Father Like Son," which is in reference to Fukuyama's film that won him a special July Prize at Cannes International Film Festival 2013.
The 33-year-old actress wed Fukuyama, 13 years her senior, on her birthday last year. The wedding, which was a very private affair, came to public attention only after the couple released a statement later in the day. Even their dating life was kept under wraps, even denying the rumours about them being a couple in the initial days. However, it is understood that the couple has been dating since January 2012.
One of the main reasons attributed to the low-key relationship is Fukuyama's success among lady fans. In fact, when it was confirmed that Fukuyama and Fukiishi are dating, his fans coined the term "Masha-Loss" to denote he is no longer single.
