Shah Rukh Khan is working hard towards fulfilling promises he made on his 50th birthday (Nov. 2, 2015). He said he would do mad and off-beat films and from what sources say, his next with Imtiaz Ali fits the bill perfectly.
"SRK will be seen as a turbaned tourist in the UK. His innocent interactions with the Britishers and his adventurous return to India form the premise of the film," a source told Mumbai Mirror. The comedy-drama will see the actor play a Sikh on the big screen for the first time ever.
This comes close on the heels of a quick chat, in which Imtiaz had said he would want to work with SRK. "I have also heard about the rumours. I wish they were true. I would definitely want to work with Shah Rukh Khan," Absolute India quoted the director as saying.
Shah Rukh too shares similar feelings. "We both feel that one day we will come together for a film, and if that happens, it will be very nice. I would love to work with Imtiaz," the actor told Pinkvilla.
In his interview with the entertainment portal, the superstar also added that often they (him and Imtiaz) meet up only to discuss story ideas. He said they bump into each other at parties often and exchange ideas.
It's going to be a busy few months for SRK as "Fan" is ready for release with "Raees" in tow. He has shot for a schedule for Gauri Shinde's untitled next alongside Alia Bhatt and will resume shoot soon.
This apart, the 50-year-old is making headlines for his stint at the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) 2016. A few leaked pictures from the rehearsals show him catching up with Salman Khan, who will also perform at the show. To be held on March 18 in Dubai, the ceremony will be hosted by Parineeti Chopra and Riteish Deshmukh.
