Shah Rukh Khan is wrapped up in projects — "Fan," "Raees," and Gauri Shinde's next — for the coming year and so far, there's been no news of the films he has signed next. However, he may star in the remake of Rajesh Khanna's "Ittefaq" (1969).
To be co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film may be helmed by Ravi Chopra's son Abhay Chopra. He has been working on the script for a few years now and wishes to make his directorial debut with the remake, which may go on floors by the end of this year, Absolute India News reports.
Directed by Yash Chopra, "Ittefaq" fit into the murder-mystery genre in which Dilip Roy (Rajesh), a painter, is slapped with murder charges and later sent packing to an asylum, where he seeks professional help. It is said to be a semi-hit at the box office and was one of the few films of the time that didn't have any songs.
Interesting trivia about "Ittefaq": It is a remake of a 1965 film "Signpost to Murder" starring Joanne Woodward, Stuart Whitman, and Edward Mulhare.
In other news, SRK has just wrapped up the first schedule of Gauri's next in Goa with Alia Bhatt, and has been working on "Raees," which also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. A bunch of on-set pictures from both the films have gone viral and the superstar's fans cannot stop gushing about how stunning he looks in his rugged avatar. Meanwhile, "Fan" too has got similar attention because of the look he sports and the intriguing sneak peeks.
