KGF actor Yash is really upset and unhappy with a recent incident where a crazy 26-year-old fan set himself ablaze outside his house after failing to meet him on his birthday.
The man, who has been identified as Ravi Raghuram, a resident of Dasarahalli, succumbed to injuries at Bengaluru's Victoria Hospital at 1:30 am on Wednesday. Doctors said that the deceased had sustained 80 per cent burns.
Ravi had come to meet Yash on his birthday and was waiting outside his house at Hoskerehalli. He got upset when he got to know that the actor was not in town. He doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire. Security personnel outside Yash's home tried to put out the fire and rushed Ravi to the hospital.
After learning about the incident Yash went to meet Ravi at the hospital on Tuesday evening and wished for his speedy recovery. However, the actor was really unhappy with what had transpired and vowed not to meet such fans who hurt themselves to pull his attention.
"I do not want fans like this, this is not fandom or love, this does not bring me happiness. I will not come to see anybody else like this again, it will give the wrong message to fans who think that I will come and meet them (if they take drastic steps like this)," Yash spoke to the media after meeting Ravi at the hospital.
A couple of days ago, Yash had informed his fans that he won't be celebrating his birthday this year in the remembrance of late Kannada actor, Dr. Ambareesh (Ambarish/ Ambrish).
"ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಖುಷಿಯಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಲು ಒಂದು ಸಮಯ. ನನ್ನ ನೆನಪುಗಳ ಪುಟ ತಿರುಗಿಸಲು ಈ ಸಮಯ. There is a time for celebration and then there is a time for remembrance and reflection. This year is for the latter. (sic)," Yash had tweeted.
Ravi's father Ramanna said that his son used to go to Yash's house every year to meet him but wasn't sure what led him to take such a drastic step.
"Ravi goes every year to meet Yash. Last year he had taken us to his house as well. This year, we had told him not to go, but he persisted. Do not know where Ravi got the petrol from," Ramanna was quoted as saying by News 18.
