Weddings are said to be one of the most important days in a girl's life. Remember when Monica Geller explained to Ross that the reason his fiancée Emily wanted everything to be perfect was probably because she had been dreaming about the day since she was five?
While weddings are generally filled with fun and of course tons of preparations, what adds to the whole charm is the weather. And what better season than the autumn, with leaves changing colour and a wonderful nip in the air. If windy weather is not really your thing, winters are equally fun and romantic with a blanket of snow and comfort food.
So in case you are planning a wedding this season, here is a list of designers we love when it comes to bridal wear.
Vera Wang
Vera Wang is a magician when it comes to weddings. Be it spring, summer, fall or winter, her designs are right on the money. The designer is known for her stunning attention to detail and her Fall 2016 bridal collection entitled Hotel Madrid Part 2 is no different. With a lot of sheer fabric, oversized bows and tulle, the collection is breathtaking. There are full sleeves, sleeveless, as well as off-the-shoulder pieces and the best part is that they even come in black.
Naeem Khan
Known for intricately-detailed outfits, Naeem Khan's Fall 2016 bridal collection is a visual feast. Hand-embroidered lace gowns and capes, beads, pearl sequins and tulle have been used in the collection. One piece that is fun and flirty is the embroidered bodice, paired with an ostrich-feather skirt. While the Indian-American designer sent his models down the runway with heavy earrings and floral headpieces, you can do away with them and stick to what you are comfortable with, such as simple veils.
Monique Lhuillier
While we have always loved Monique Lhuillier's Ready-to-Wear collections, the designer's bridal wear is something dreams are made of. Just looking at the flowy embroidered gowns makes us want to get hitched.
The Fall 2016 bridal collection comprises sleeveless, as well as off-the-shoulder pieces. There are a few stunningly flowing gowns with intricately embroidered bodices and the gowns with fitted torsos and skirts that fan out are to die for. You can choose the length you prefer as they range from knee-length skirts to ones with a train.
Marchesa
Every time Marchesa, established by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, comes up with a collection, it reaffirms our faith on how amazing they are. Similarly, the label's Fall 2016 bridal collection makes our eyes pop. While the line-up features their traditional embroidered gowns with lace detail, Marchesa adds a twist with thigh-skimming dresses and backless gowns. V-necks, off-the-shoulders and plunging necklines too make an appearance.
Reem Acra
If you dream of a wedding that is anything but expected, Reem Acra should be your choice. During the runway show, the Lebanese designer added a never-seen-before twist and sent her models down the runway with selfie sticks and bridal headphones. You could either do something similar or stick to traditional corsages.
The collection features some light and easy-to-manage gowns with intricate and sparkly thread-work. Made mostly in tulle and chiffon, the collection features full skirts and flowy gowns with almost never-ending trains and sheer cut-outs.
Badgley Mischka
Very few people understand weddings the way Mark Badgley and James Mischka do. While for the Fall 2016 bridal lineup the designer duo has stuck to the traditional white shade, the patterns are something that help these gowns stand out. With tulle, organza, lace and beaded embroidery, the collection is not something one can overlook. The collection features heavy embellishments, lending a festive air to the collection. Pieces come in peplum style, structured bodices and many more that scream glam.
Austin Scarlett
Austin Scarlett's Fall 2016 bridal wear is fun, flirty and perfect in case you do not want to do the usual white wedding affair. Inspired by the fall colours of Central Park, the American designer's line comes in stunning shades of blush pink. It also has the traditional white pieces, but they are anything but boring.
Two pieces we specifically love are a pink off-the-shoulder gown that is fitted on the top and flowy at the edges and another sleeveless piece in white with cut-outs on the sides, which is not only stylish but very elegant. There is also a tulle mermaid gown in the collection.
