The teaser of Fahadh Faasil's much-awaited movie, "Mariyam Mukku", has been released. It gives a glimpse of the setting and also introduces the lead actors who are blending with the charm of the land.
The teaser is set in the backdrop of a beautiful sunset in a beach, with waves lapping on the seaside rocks. The frame then goes to a wider view, featuring the hero and heroine enjoying the serene sunset.
One thing the teaser has hinted is the fact that the movie is going to be a visual treat. Touted as a romantic comedy entertainer, the movie is written and directed by James Albert, who had earlier scripted "Classmates", "Cycle", "Evidam Swargamanu", "Venicile Vyaapari", "Jawan of Vellimala" and "Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal."
"Mariyam Mukku" had Fahadh Faasil and debutant Sana Althaf in the lead. The movie is set in a historically significant village called Mariyam Mukku, which follows a peculiar Latin American culture.
Fahadh will play the role of Albert, a fisherman. Sana Altaf who played Dulquer's sister in "Vikramadithyan" will play Fahadh's love interest Salomi in the movie.
The film also has popular Tamil actor Tyagarajan as Fahadh's foster father, Aju Varghese as Lloyd Casper Anderson who plays Salomi's brother, Manoj K Jayan as Mariyanasan and Joy Mathew essaying the role of Salomi's father Sayip.
The rest of the cast include Prathap Pothen, Nedumudi Venu, Neeraj Madhav, Nandu, Sadiq, Sreejith Ravi, Irshad, Pashanam Shaji, Devi Ajith, Suja, Seema G Nair and Meena Ganesh.
While Gireesh handles cinematography, editing will be done by Ranjan Abraham. The music will be composed by Vidyasagar. Mohandas is the art director of the film. Costumes are designed by Sameera Saneesh and make-up is done by Sreejith Guruvayur.
"Mariyam Mukku" is being produced by AK Sabeer under the banner of Sam Big Movies and will be distributed by LJ Films and is expected to hit theatres by January 2015.
