A Facebook post about his engagement has ended up in arrest for a 29-year-old Kerala man, who now stands accused of rape by his former girlfriend.
The post by M Shameer about his engagement to another woman was noticed by his girlfriend, who felt ourtaged that Shameer exploited her sexually after promising to marry her.
She reached his house to protest, after which the police took notice of her complaint.
The police arrested Shameer, belonging to Koorachundu in Kozhikode district, two days ago and charged him with section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced before the district magistrate who remanded him to 14 days judicial custody, reported PTI.
