After the release of repackaged album "Love Me Right", SM Entertainment's popular K-Pop boy band EXO has once again topped the list of Korean music charts. Additionally, it has also set a new record in terms of sales by crossing the one million mark within few hours of its release.
When the group released its first studio album "XOXO" in 2013, it was the first one to cross the million mark after 12 years. With the release of new project on 3 June, the team managed to maintain its position.
Meanwhile, the four new songs in the album, including title track "Love Me Right," "First Love," "Tender Love" and "Promise", are listed in top 10 position by multiple onilne music charts of Korea, according to Soompi.
Meanwhile, the only active Chinese member in EXO, Lay, apologised to his fans during the boy band's performance on Mnet's M! Countdown for being absent from the promotional activities of second studio album "EXODUS".
"I have many things I want to say [to fans.] It's been a long time since I met everyone and [I'm] very happy to be able to record with the members after a long period of time. Because I've missed many [promotional] activities, I hope you all will not hate me," Koreaboo quoted the K-Pop star as saying.
In the meantime, netizens criticised EXO member Tao for being absent from the launch ceremony of "Love Me Right" and attending the promotional activities of Chinese mobile game "Chao Shen Zhan Dui" instead, stated SBS.
The furious messages ranged from "EXO should just take this opportunity to cut the members down to the Korean 8" and "I wonder if he's even acting like this after deleting that post he made about Kris on Instagram after he leave. So embarrassing, really," to "At least the other Chinese members who left are popular, what is this kid banking on? He's literally only receiving attention for being an EXO member. He's not handsome or talented in anything on his own. Laughable, really".
