Former EXO member Luhan's success and Tao's silence has triggered speculations that the latter is planning to follow the former's footsteps for success.
Amid the ongoing legal battle between the "Miss Granny" star and popular South Korean record label SM Entertainment, the celeb has been bagging some of the best projects from the Chinese entertainment industry, catapulting him as one of the most-recognised celebrities in the country.
The 25-year-old has become the face of several popular brands, including Elle Magazine's Chinese edition, L'Oreal and Forbes China, in recent times. He is also one of the "Five Faces of China" for a fashion news website called Models.com.
While the website described the K-Pop star as "reigning king of the idol scene" for his charming boy-next-door looks, Forbes magazine tagged him as "a new rising force" in the Chinese entertainment industry, according to Soompi.
Recently, Luhan also bagged the "Most Popular Actor" award at the 22nd Beijing College Student Film Festival Awards for his role in Chinese blockbuster movie "Miss Granny".
On the other hand, Tao is going through the most difficult time of his career due to speculation that he is planning to terminate his contract with the record label. The rumours started doing the rounds after his father released a statement against the firm.
According to his father, the record label does not acknowledge him for his hard work. "The company did not properly take care of his injuries and that pained my heart. As a father I can no longer watch my son go up on stage with injuries," he said in an interview with Chinese media outlet.
Although the celeb is yet to break his silence on the dispute, reports suggest that he is planning to settle down in the US to start his career afresh. Recently, his car, a white Maserati Granturismo Sport 4.7 MC, was seen uploaded on a website called Bobae Dream for sale, hinting at his plan to move to the US, stated Koreaboo.
On 11 May, the young star updated his Instagram account by posting a photo of him sitting on a curb, but it did not have details on his health condition or decision about EXO.
