EXO member Tao was spotted at an airport in Beijing on Thursday, 7 May, where he was waiting to board a flight to Los Angeles. 

While several Chinese media outlets stated that the young star is going abroad to continue his treatment for leg injury and pursue higher studies, he has not released any official statement about his trip and is yet to break his silence on terminating SM Entertainment's contract.

However, his fans were not surprised by his decision as they were already aware of it. Some of them even reached the airport to meet him and wish him luck. They also shared their excitement on Twitter by sharing photos of the 22-year-old with his mother.

In the meantime, those who could not reach the airport greeted him on Instagram. The messages ranged from "Study well & get well soon...plz come back to us quickly!! We'll wait for u & never quit supporting u....luv u" and "I want to see him so bad I just want to give him a hug" to "Tao study hard and come back soon don't leave exo".

While the fan messages indicate that Tao's followers are eagerly waiting to see him back with SM Entertainment's K-Pop boy band, there is a buzz that he is planning to build an independent identity abroad. If this turns out to be true, then he could be the next Chinese member to leave the group after Kris (Wu Yifan) and Luhan.
