Gehna Jewellers has launched an enchanting collection of cuff, bracelets, neckpiece, earrings and rings crafted in diamonds. The exclusive collection called Gehna: 'The Magic of the Mashrabiyas' by ace jewellery designer Shaheen Abbas was inspired by ancient Arabic architecture.
The collection by Shaheen, an avid traveler, was inspired by Mashrabiyas or the ornate latticed window from the Middle Eastern and Mughal architecture. Mashrabiyas have as many as 2000 pieces (elements) and in the subtle design can be hidden inscriptions, objects etc.
"Diamonds tell a thousand tales and hide a million secrets, just like the Mashrabiyas and so it seemed like a perfect blend of design and inspiration for me", said Shaheen at the launch event. " Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!"
"The design inspiration of Mashrabiyas by the very artistic Shaheen Abbas is exquisite, this collection in gold will amaze the buyer with its craftsmanship, the subtle snugness of the cuff, the scintillation of the diamond when the earrings waft in the breeze, the sparkle and fire of the rings will leave you bedazzled," said Kiran Datwani of Gehna Jewellers.
The event was attended by celebrities like Neha Dhupia, Dia Mirza, Mandira Bedi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Arshad Warsi, Maria Goretti, Sonali Kulkarni, Rohit and Mansi Roy, Madhoo Shah, Aditi Gowatrikar, Mini Mathur, Shruti Seth, Neeta and Nishka Lulla, Munisha Khatwani, Nainik Rupani, Sharmilla and Shaan Khanna, Zeba Kohli, Radhika Mukherjee, Krishika Lulla, Lucky Morani, Kunika Singh, Suchitra Pillai, Sophie Premji, Namrata Barua Shroff and many others.
