Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha", starring ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, wrapped up shoot on Wednesday.
The last day of shoot took place at the Mehboob Studios and while everyone was emotional, Ranbir and Deepika took the entire unit by surprise when they couldn't hold back tears.
"It was the last day of our shoot and the final days do tend to get emotional for the whole unit. But this was something else altogether. Both Ranbir and Deepika broke down. We were all taken aback, since these two are not known to be demonstrative of their emotions," a source told DNA.
Although both Ranbir and Deepika have moved on in their lives and are in a committed relationship with their respective partners, it was supposedly difficult for them to bid adieu considering they were ex-lovers and still share a strong friendly bond.
"Ranbir and Deepika got emotional because they are lovers-turned-friends and still share a deep connection. While they are both in a relationship elsewhere and committed even. But goodbyes are sad. The making of a movie takes over a year and people do get emotional. Also this was the last time they'll get to be together for a while before they start promoting the film," another source told the daily.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, "Tamasha" will see Ranbir as a nomad who wanders from place to place and on one such trip to Corsica, he meets the character played by Deepika. The duo then decide to explore the French land together.
"Tamasha" produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, will bring the sizzling pair back on screen for the second time -- post their breakup -- after they starred in the blockbuster movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (2013).
While "Tamasha" is "Bombay Velvet" actor's second movie with Imtiaz -- after the success of "Rockstar" -- the "Bajirao Mastani" actress is teaming up with the director for the third time after "Love Aaj Kal" (2009) and "Cocktail"(2012).
