Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor, who were once Bollywood's hottest couple, have been trying to avoid each other ever since they broke their relationship years ago.
Now, it appears that the duo have maintained a cordial relationship post their breakup as both were spotted over a quiet cup of coffee at a suburban coffee shop, recently.
Apparently, Kapoor went to greet the actress for the excellent work she has delivered in her upcoming film, "Mary Kom".
"Shahid had watched a few rushes of Priyanka's Mary Kom, he wanted to personally congratulate her for her brilliant work in the film. There was nothing more to it. They are friends and neighbours too. So what's the big deal about catching up with a friend?" a source close to Kapoor told Deccan Chronicle.
Whether it was a mere friendly meet or a planned strategy to create a buzz around the "Kaminey" star's upcoming film "Haider" and Chopra's "Mary Kom" is not known.
However, the friendly nature of the ex-flames, did come as a surprise as only a few days back both were spotted at the "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" studio. Kapoor, apparently, was not comfortable with his ex-flame's presence when they came to promote their respective films. There were also reports that the "Jab We Met" actor locked himself in the vanity van to avoid confronting the "Barfi" actress.
Meanwhile, Chopra is now busy with the promotion works of "Mary Kom". The film, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 is set to release worldwide on 5 September.
The film is based on the self-controlled, disciplined life of five-time world champion and an Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom, who struggled to become what she is today.
The "Gunday" actress has completely transformed herself from a glamorous look to flaunting some cut muscle. Her new avatar has already created a huge buzz in the industry.
On the other hand, "Haider" is an adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy play "Hamlet." Apart from Kapoor, the film also stars Shraddha, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan Khan. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, "Haider" is set to hit the theatres on 2 October.
