Not many videogame characters boast the same kind of prominence across the world like Mario. It now feels like the Italian plumber has been around forever, and has almost singlehandedly become a poster-child of the industry. Sounds great, doesn't it? Now let's murder Mario!
Here comes 'Kill The Plumber'. The game is basically the closest you will ever get to killing Mario, minus the lawsuit. The main character of the game looks preposterously similar to Mario, let alone its graphic world design that so much resembles the one we saw in our ever-beloved game.
About the premise of the game, the official page states: "It was a peaceful day in the kingdom, when all of a sudden a plumber decided to construct pipes everywhere and cause destruction. No matter what the critters throw at him, he kept coming back and even tried to kidnap their princess. Stop him at any costs, otherwise your kingdom will burn."
"Kill The plumber is a parody to other platformers. Your goal is to stop the 'protagonist' from winning each level. You start off as a slow minion who can't even jump, but has enough power to kill the hero. As you get the hang of it, you start playing as other enemies that can jump, shoot, stomp and even fly, sometimes controlling more than one character at a time!"
For the game, different levels feature different enemies, alongside specific, quick plumber-murdering challenges. Sure, the game looks like a cheap Flash-oriented piece, but it's a killer when you play it on PC.
Kill The Plumber is currently available on Steam Greenlight, while the full version of the game is due later this year.
