1. Manohar Parrikar warns Pakistan of 'befitting reply' if terror continues

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar warned Pakistan against carrying out anti-India conspiracy. He said that India will give a "befitting reply again."

Parrikar also asked Pakistan not to take "India's silence as weakness." He pointed out that Pakistan has not probed Indian surgical attacks on terror launch pads along the Line of Control (LoC) since they are "still in shock." Read more...

2. Maldives joins India, Afghanistan to boycott Saarc summit in Islamabad

Maldives has become the fifth country to join India and four other nations in boycotting the Saarc Summit that was scheduled to be held in Islamabad from 9 November. It has said that it will not in the event.

4. Gold prices fall sharply; silver remains unchanged

The yellow metal began October on a negative note, with prices declining by Rs 325 due to weak global cues and lacklustre performance by domestic jewellers even as silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 45,500 per kg.

Gold prices closed at Rs 31,200 per 10 gm on Saturday, after gaining Rs 175 the previous day despite the stock markets ending higher on account of value-buying by investors. Read more...
