Bollywood actress Esha Gupta is all set to make her debut in Tollywood with the film "Size Zero". She will reportedly be seen competing with her contemporary, Anushka Shetty, for the male lead's attention in the movie.
"Size Zero" is a romantic comedy entertainer written by Smt. Kanika Dhillon Kovelamudi and directed by ace filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao's son Prakash Kovelamudi. It is produced by PVP Cinemas and is simultaneously being made for release in both Telugu and Tamil.
The plot of the film is based on the travails of an obese girl, who falls in love with a good-looking man. Anushka Shetty, Arya, Bharath and Urvasi etch the principal roles, while Shruthi Haasan makes a guest appearance. Actress Esha Gupta has now been roped in to play the girl, who would compete with the obese girl for the hero's attention.
A source close to Esha Gupta has confirmed the news about her casting for "Size Zero". "The filmmakers were looking for an actress with a stunning onscreen presence and after considering many candidates, they zeroed-in on Esha. She has scorched the screen with many special numbers in Hindi cinema and would be everything that Anushka is not," the source told The Times of India.
"Esha will lock horns with Anushka for Arya's attention. Arya will be faced with the predicament of choosing between the stunning Esha and the obese Anushka. Esha loved the role and agreed to come on board after she heard the script. She is excited about her debut in Tollywood," the source added.
Born in Delhi, Esha Gupta started her career as model while pursuing her graduation in Mass Communication in Bangalore. She participated in Femina Miss India in 2007 and won Miss Photogenic and went on to compete for Miss India International. She made her acting debut with Mahesh Bhatt's "Jannat 2" in 2012. She has featured in six Bollywood movie in four years.
