Two ostriches have tragically lost their lives after running onto a motorway in China. The giant birds were accidentally killed in Foshan City on 11 May.
CCTV video footage shows one bird running on the motorway alongside speeding cars. Of the two birds, one of the ostriches was later killed by speeding traffic.
The second escaped bird was eventually captured by motorists in the Chinese city later in the day. However, in their attempts to escort it from the road, they accidentally killed it as well.
The ostriches had belonged to a collector who lives in the Guangdong region. He had originally bought them, alongside seven others, from a local market.
