Malayalam cinema is witnessing a welcome trend these days; many international companies want to foray into fim making here. The latest to join the bandwagon is Eros International, a global production and distribution company.
Eros' maiden Malayalam production is the upcoming "Life of Josutty" starring Dileep in the lead. The movie will be directed by Jeethu Joseph, who has directed Kamal Haasan's upcoming movie "Papanasam".
"We are looking forward to tapping the potential of Malayalam cinema and happy to align with the very best talent there... we are in talks with various producers, directors and actors currently. The industry is very important in our upcoming slate of productions and we couldn't have had a better entry than a Jeethu Joseph film," said Soundarya A Rajinikanth, Creative and Strategy for South India, Eros.
The development is expected to catapult Malayalam films to global standards.

Shooting of "Life of Josutty" began on 2 January in Idukki; New Zealand is another location for the shooting. The film's storyline has a family narrative, mixed with elements of comedy and fantasy.
The film also has a huge star cast which includes Rachana Narayanankutty , Jyothikrishna, Harish Peradi, Sunil Sugatha, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Kalabhavan Mani.
Though the movie was earlier announced to be "Vishu" release in April, the makers have now announced that it will have a worldwide release in June this year.
