The stupendous success of "Bajirao Mastani" now and "Ram Leela" earlier has prompted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Eros International Media to think long-term in 2016, with both planning a slew of movies.

Eros International Media is a listed company engaged in co-producing, acquiring and distributing Indian films, and is part of the Eros International Group.

Its stock closed at Rs 240.45 on 31 December, 2015, on the BSE, far below its high of Rs 633.60 recorded on 20 July this year.

With the worldwide box office collection of "Bajirao Mastani" crossing Rs 250 crore and poised to breach the Rs 300-crore mark, the Ranveer-Deepika movie's global distributor Eros International Media and its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali are planning to take their relationship to a different level.

"So impressed is Bhansali with the production, marketing and release strategy of Eros that he is now going ahead with the company for his next five-six releases as well," a source was quoted as saying in a report by movietalkies.com.

"Against so many odds, it was the belief and conviction of Bhansali and Eros that resulted in the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra film being released on 18 December. There were challenges around clash with Dilwale...(but) the two mighty forces stood with each other and not just gave the film a major release but also won critical acclaim as well as audience perception," the report added.

Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol-Varun Dhawan-starrer "Dilwale", which released on 18 December, the same day as "Bajirao Mastani", has collected about Rs 250 crore worldwide in box office.

Eros International earned a net profit of Rs 90.3 crore in the second quarter, ended 30 September, 2015, up 80% from Rs 50.1 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenues doubled to Rs 504.91 crore, up from Rs 239.90 crore in the second quarter ended 30 September, 2014.

"Bajirao Mastani" is sure to lift Eros International's revenues and reflect in the company's third-quarter figures, with analysts expecting the movie to add about Rs 300 crore to its topline.
