The first Manchester United signing for the summer has possibly already been revealed, and it is not Jose Mourinho. It is highly-rated Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito broke the big news and he has admitted that the 22-year-old Brazil international is already "sold" to the Premier League giants for €60 million.
"I've sold Felipe Anderson to Manchester United for €60m (£46.8)," Lotito has been quoted by Football Italia. No official confirmation has come from Lazio or Manchester United as yet, however.
United have been linked with the player all season and the "Felipe Anderson to Manchester United" story got more juice ahead of the January transfer window. However, at the end of the one-month transfer season, no player was officially bought by the Red Devils.
"I signed Felipe Anderson for €8m and have already re-sold him for €60m," Lotito continued. "Next year he'll go to Manchester United."
Felipe Anderson has been highly-rated following his performances in the Italian Serie A. He made his debut for the Santos senior team in 2010 and made his move to Lazio in the summer of 2013 for a fee worth €7.8 million.
Equally comfortable to play as a winger as well as a central midfielder, Anderson has seven goals and four assists from 34 games in all competitions for Lazio so far this season (as on Feb. 22). He made his debut for the Brazil senior team last year.
