Chelsea and Manchester United emerged victorious in their respective fixtures against Swansea City and Queen Park Rangers, while Arsenal, Manchester City shared a point each at the Emirates. On the other hand, Liverpool suffered a shock home defeat against Aston Villa in this weekend round of Premier League fixtures.

Arsenal 2-2 Manchester City
Following their 3-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield, Arsenal were being tipped as the slight favourites in this game at the Emirates. The Gunners nearly got the desired result but City fought back and salvaged a point.
The game started with Sergio Aguero silencing the home fans by breaking the deadlock in the 28th minute. Jack Wilshere equalised for Arsenal in the 63rd minute before a 74th minute strike from Alexis Sanchez put them in the lead.
Just as it was looking that Arsenal were going to walk off with three points, Martin Demichelis levelled the score, with seven minutes remaining on the clock.
Chelsea 4-2 Swansea City
Chelsea continued their winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-2 triumph over Swansea City thanks to a hat-trick from Diego Costa, who has now scored 7 goals from 4 appearances.
The game started with Swansea taking the lead through John Terry's own goal in the 11th minute before Costa levelled just before the break. The Spain striker grabbed a further two goals in quick succession in the 56th and 67th minute before Loic Remy further increased the Blues lead in the 81th minute.
Finally the Swans were only able to get a late consolation through Jonjo Shelvey in the 86th minute.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Burnley
Crystal Palace and Burnley shared a point each at Selhurst Park after the game ended in a boring goalless stalemate.
Burnley's Scott Arfield got a very good chance to grab a late winner for his side through a penalty, but his spot kick was brilliantly saved by Julian Speroni .
The Eagles were the more dominating side in the early parts of the game as they twice came to taking the lead in the first eight minutes. While Damien Delaney's shot was deflected over the angle of post, Fraizer Campbell was denied by the woodwork.
Wilfred Zaha then came close to scoring as Clarets' captain Jason Shackell just barely managed to clear off the line. The Eagles created more chances in the second half but they failed to convert.
Finally, the home crowd were silenced as the referee pointed towards the spot following Palace captain Mile Jedinak's challenge on Lukas Jutkiewicz in the 85th minute.
However, Speroni came to the Eagles rescue as they made a brilliant dive to the right to deny Arfield and salvage a point for his side.
Southampton 4-0 Newcastle United
Despite their manager Mauricio Pochettino along with a host of star players departing the Saints this summer, Southampton proved that they are still capable of playing some attractive football as they crushed Newcastle 4-0 at St Mary's.
A brace from new signing Graziano Pellè coupled with two second half strikes from Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin proved to be too much for the Magpies, who could not even get a consolation.
Newcastle will have to start producing results in the next round of fixtures as they are currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier league with only two points from four games.
Stoke City 0-1 Leicester City
Newly promoted side Leicester City were able to record a narrow 1-0 win over Stoke City at the Britannia stadium courtesy of a second half strike by club record signing Leonardo Ulloa, who has now netted 3 goals in four Premier League games.
The Potters, who were able to defeat Manchester City at the Etihad in their last Premier League fixture, could not carry on their winning streak against Leicester despite dominating possession and creating 24 chances during the match.
While this result has cemented Leicester City's place in the mid table region of the Premier League, with 5 points from 4 games, Stoke have dropped to the lower half of the table with 4 points in 4 games.
Sunderland 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Sunderland managed to salvage another point in the Premier League following their late draw against the Spurs at the Stadium of Light.
Tottenham got off to a flying start after Nacer Chadi broke the deadlock after only two minutes, but Adam Johnson brought Sunderland right back into the game by grabbing the leveller in the 4th minute.
Christian Eriksen restored the Spurs lead right after the break, but the visitors were robbed of two points as Harry Kane turned the ball into his own net in the 82nd minute.
West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Everton
After their dreadful 3-6 home defeat to Chelsea in the last fixture, Everton returned to their winning ways as they recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock after only a couple minutes following the start of the match, before his Belgian compatriot Kevin Mirallas added another in the 66th minute.
West Brom will need to get some positive results in the forthcoming fixtures as they are currently at the very bottom of the premier League, with only two points in four games.
Liverpool 0-1 Aston Villa
Liverpool were stunned by Aston Villa in their own backyard as they stumbled to 0-1 defeat at Anfield courtesy of an early strike from Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Following their confident 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in their last Premier League fixture, Liverpool were expected to cruise in this home game against Liverpool.
However, the absence of Daniel Sturridge (injured) and Raheem Sterling (benched) clearly made a huge difference as the Reds were unable to find the nets despite dominating possession and creating 18 chances during the match.
Sterling was introduced late on in the game, but even he was unable to make a difference as Villa held on to their lead and walked away with three points.
Manchester United 4-0 Queens Park Rangers
Manchester United finally recorded their first win of the season under new boss Louis van Gaal as they crushed Harry Redknapp's QPR 4-0 at Old Trafford.
Angel Di Maria opened the scoring in the 24th minute, before Ander Herrera doubled United's advantage in the 36th minute. Wayne Rooney added another in the dytinh minutes of the first half, before Juan Mata sealed the game by scoring the Red Devils fourth goal in the 58th minute.
