Liverpool will look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat against Hull City, when they host Norwich in the English Premier League on Wednesday.

Brendan Rodgers, at the start of the weekend, would have seen the next three fixtures - Hull, Norwich and West Ham - as perfect opportunities to pick up maximum points and keep the pressure at the top of the table.

However, Liverpool failed to turn up at the KC stadium on Sunday, and were deservedly downed by an impressive Hull side 3-1. That loss kept Liverpool seven points behind Arsenal, and Rodgers will now hope for a reaction from his players against Norwich.

"In the time I've been here, we've never lost two games on the spin, and that's really down to the positivity of the players and how they can bounce back and recover after a defeat," Rodgers said.

"I always have to look at the bigger picture and, for me, the bigger picture is still very bright. We just need to get over the disappointment -- which we will do. I'll always demand the best, that's why we're at a club like this. We're not here to be second or great losers, we're here to win. We've shown that we have the capacity to do that consistently now.

"The only way you can respond is to put your head down, take whatever comes and work tirelessly going forward to get the result. The expectancy here is to win every game, that's the reality of being a Liverpool player or manager. Over the course of this year, we've been very good.

"We've upgraded on a lot of parts of our performance that we wanted to do. We've got an exciting team. That wasn't the case yesterday. But over the course of this calendar year, we've been excellent. This season at home, we've only conceded three goals and one of them a penalty.

"It's probably just that too often away from home we've made mistakes and that has ultimately cost us. There are other games where we've been able to muster a draw when we haven't played so well, but [against Hull] we just couldn't do that."

Scoring goals has been the major problem for Norwich, 14th with 14 points, this season, managing just 11 in 13 games so far. They did, however, pick up all three points against Crystal Palace at the weekend courtesy a 1-0 victory, with Gary Hooper finding the back of the net.

Chris Hughton will know his back-four will be tested much more severely by Liverpool, and a single goal might not be enough to come away with another three points.

Team news: Rodgers will have Philippe Coutinho back in the starting lineup after the Brazilian playmaker managed just under 30 minutes in the Hull clash. However, striker Daniel Sturridge remains on the sidelines with an ankle problem, and is not expected to return until January next year.

"Daniel is going to be out for a period of time. But we'll cope," Rodgers said. It's the responsibility of everyone. We can't rely on one player -- it has to be about the team and that's what we'll focus on.

"We just hope he can get back quickly. He recovers very well. We'll soldier on with what we have and the players, I know, will give absolutely everything."

Kolo Toure is a doubt with a hip problem, while Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates remain on the treatment table.

Norwich have plenty of injury problems of their own with Robert Snodgrass (knee), Ricky Van Wolfswinkel (ankle), Mark Bunn (ankle), Elliot Bennett (knee), Alexander Tettey (ankle) and Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) all sidelined.

Key men: Liverpool: Luis Suarez struggled a little without his usual strike partner against Hull, and with Sturridge set for a lengthy spell out, the pressure will increase on the Uruguayan for goals.

Norwich: Hooper netted a crucial goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday, and the former Celtic striker will want to continue the run against Liverpool.
