There have been a lot of buzz about Rajinikanth's "Endhiran 2". But the makers have remained tight-lipped and many had wondered whether the sequel to the blockbuster movie would ever happen.
Now, there is some serious development happening and it clearly confirms that Shankar is getting ready to direct "Endhiran 2". The movie is reportedly in the pre-production stage and the entire team is seriously working on it without much publicity.
We hear that the "Endhiran 2" script is almost completed and Shankar is giving final touches to it. In the mean time, he is also busy hunting for locations for the forthcoming movie as it had added a lot of value to "Endhiran".
The 2010 film had got permission to shoot at some of the rare locations, which were not available for shooting of normal films. Using former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran's influence, Shankar had got permission to film some songs at historical locations including Machu Pichu, the protected heritage site in Peru. It had become the first Indian movie to be shot at the pre-Columbian site of Inca civilisation. So, one can expect something special from Shankar once again.
"Endhiran" was produced by Kalanithi Maran and it was made with a budget of Rs 132 crore. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had played the female lead in the film, which also had Danny Denzongpa, Cochin Haneefa, Kalabhavan Mani and Santhanam in the cast. It had AR Rahman's music, R Rathnavelu's cinematography and Anthony's editing.
It is not clear whether the same team will be joining hands again or Shankar is bringing in a fresh team. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is getting ready to start his next film with Pa Ranjith. It will take off in August.
