The fifth episode of "Empire" season 2 will explore Cookie Lyon's (Taraji P Henson) relationship with the concert promoter Laz Delgado (Adam Rodriguez) when the show returns on Fox this Wednesday, 21 October, at 9pm.
The sequel is titled "Be True" and the official synopsis of it read: "Over at Lyon Dynasty, Cookie and Anika work together with Laz to throw "Cookie Lyon's Block Party," a big event to launch their company, showcase their artists and premiere a signature Dynasty anthem written by Hakeem".
Meanwhile, Jamal gets busy working on his music with Ne-Yo (guest star Ne-Yo). Also, Hakeem begins a tender romance with the lead singer of his girl group, and Andre takes steps to rid his soul of past sins.
While teasing an intense episode, creator Danny Strong also revealed that the sequel will focus on how to balance a relationship when one walks into stardom. It will also features Andre's baptism and it reminds the hip hop mogul Lucious' (Terrence Howard) of his traumatised childhood.
In a sneak peek video of the upcoming episode, Rodriguez teased that Cookie and Laz is going through an evolution with each other. "Cookie is allowing herself to soften up a little bit. Laz has other intentions", says the actor.
