"Empire" will be back on Fox with a new story line for Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and family at 9pm on Wednesday, 7 October. Episode 3 of season 2 titled "Fires of Heaven" will revolve around the various efforts made by each of the family member to standout in the music industry.
Last episode of the Fox music drama, titled "Without a Country", showed Cookie Lyon (Taraji P Henson) along with Hakeem (Bryshere Y Gray) and Andre (Trai Byers) trying to establish a new music company.
The plot takes an unexpected turn after Jamal (Jussie Smollett) approaches Hakeem with a request to join back Empire Entertainment. But the youngest member of Lyon family refuses the offer and decides to help his mother.
Episode 3 will begin by showing Cookie and her team's new move against Lucious and his company. While Henson's character teams up with Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) for a secret performance, Gray's character will work hard to establish his girl group, Ménage a Trois.
In the meantime, the hip hop mogul and his son Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will make all efforts to take Empire Entertainment to new heights. Howard's character will contact the daughter of Frank Gathers (Chris Rock), Young Ma (Bre-Z Murray), and try to convince her to join his company.
The third episode of Fox music drama will also focus on Andre's (Trai Byers) struggles in professional life. The eldest son of Lucious and his wife Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) wait for a positive node from the hip hop mogul.
The two of them believe their baby-on-the-way will be the key that unlocks Lucious' cold heart and opens the door for Andre to return to the Empire fold.
Meanwhile, Cookie turns out to be the luckiest one as she manages to capture the attention of Pitbull through her special performance, which could her in establishing her own music company.
Fox will air "Empire" season 2 episode 3 "Fires of Heaven" at 9pm on Wednesday, 7 October.
