Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada has made brilliant collection at the US box office in its first weekend. The Nikhil Siddharth starrer has topped the US business chart for Indian films, beating Force 2.
The Vi Anand-directed romantic thriller film premiered in 90 screens across North America on November 17 and received good response everywhere. Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada collected $24,169 at the US box office in the preview shows on Thursday and became the biggest opener for Nikhil Siddharth.
Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada received superb response at the ticket counters on Friday and collected $94,732 at the US box office on the first day. The movie garnered positive talk from the audience and the word of mouth boosted its collection on the following days. The film showed decent growth on Saturday and Sunday.
Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada collected $389,510 at the US box office in the first weekend and its per-screen average stands at $4,327. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#EkkadikiPothavuChinnavada - USA: Thu $ 24,323, Fri $ 94,988, Sat $ 163,306, Sun $ 107,303. Total: $ 389,920 [₹ 2.66 cr]. @Rentrak."
Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada has shattered the lifetime collection records of Nikhil Siddharth's previous releases in the country. The movie has topped the US business chart of Indian movies, beating Force 2, which collected $89,286 from 40 screens at the US box office in the opening weekend.
Nirvana Cinemas has acquired the overseas distribution rights of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada. They tweeted: "It's been fantastic 1st week #EPCMovie. Interesting storyline n good humor enthralled movie lovers Marching towards Million Dollars!! @actor_Nikhil @directorvianand @Nanditasweta @taran_adarsh. Will be closing around $400k for first wknd."
Avika Gor, Hebah Patel and Nandita Swetha are the female leads of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, which has been written and directed by Vi Anand and produced by PV Rao. The movie has Sekhar Chandra's music, Sai Sriram's cinematography, Abburi Ravi's dialogues and Chota K Prasad editing.
