Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" is all set to release on Wednesday with a roaring response from both the Indian as well as overseas market.
The much awaited movie has received an advance booking of almost 60 percent for the first weekend, and the tickets are selling fast. The movie is all set to break records of previous bloackbusters at the box office.
"This beats all the previous records of advance bookings at the Indian box office, be it Shah Rukh Khan's "Om Shanti Om" or Salman Khan's "Bodyguard". The challenge would be how soon it will cross the Rs 100-crore mark and whether it will cross the Rs 200-crore barrier or not," Komal Nahata, film trade analyst, said.
The movie, which also stars Katrina Kaif in the female lead, will hit more than 3,000 screens worldwide which include over 550 screens overseas. With almost 60 percent of the advance booking the figure have already rose to Rs 180 million for the opening day, according to The Examiner.
"#EkThaTiger screen count still being finalized. But one thing is certain: #EkThaTiger will have the highest number of shows ever," Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"Update: #EkThaTiger to open in 550 screens in Overseas. Get ready for a record-smashing start!" Adarsh tweeted.
"Will #EkThaTiger collects 25 cr on Day 1? Or 30 cr? May be 30 cr +? Whatever the figure, all previous records will be shattered," he wrote.
During the next five days, the movie is expected to break previous box office records, having the benefit of an Eid holiday which falls on Monday. Audiences are also anticipating to see Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif on the big screen after a gap of four years.
Khan's previous movies like "Wanted" (2009), "Dabangg" (2010) and "Bodyguard" (2011), which were all released during Eid, recieved good collections at the box office.
